Jorge Labarga

Jorge Labarga is a Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. He took office on January 6, 2009 after an appointment by Gov. Crist. His term expires in 2010.[1][2]
Biography
Justice Labarga was born in Havana, Cuba. He attended the University of Florida, where he received his bachelor's degree in 1976 and his law degree in 1979.[2]
Legal career
Justice Labarga began his career as an assistant public defender in the 15th judicial circuit. From 1982 to 1987, he was an assistant state attorney in this circuit. He then worked as a private practice lawyer until 1996, when he was appointed Circuit Judge of the 15th Circuit by Gov. Chiles. He joined the Supreme Court in 2009.[2]
