Joseph M. Ellis is currently a judge on the Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed to this position in August of 1993 and retained by voters in November of 1994. His term expires in December of 2018.[1]

Biography

Judge Ellis was born in St. Louis. He received a B.A. degree in history from the University of Missouri at St. Louis and a J.D. degree from Washington University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for a few years in the Office of Special Investigations and Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He is currently married and has one daughter.[1]

Legal career

Judge Ellis began practicing law in Macon in 1972. In 1987, he became a Macon Municipal Judge. He held this position until 1993, when he was appointed to the Court of Appeals.[1]
