Joseph J. Farah is a judge for the 7th Circuit Court (Family Division) in Genesee County, Michigan. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Engler on March 18, 1998 to replace retired Judge Thomas C. Yeotis.[1][2] He was elected to a full term the following November and was re-elected in 2004 and 2010. His current 6 year term ends on January 1, 2017.[3][4][5][6]

Education

Farah received his B.S. degree from Michigan State University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1979.[2]

Legal career

Farah worked as a private practice lawyer for 18 years before he was appointed to the Circuit Court in 1998. He also served as a Friend of the Court referee.[1][7]

2010 election

Farah was re-elected, along with 2 other judges, in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 31.41% of the vote.[5]
