May 29, 2012

Evanston, Wyoming: On May 18, Gov. Matt Mead appointed Judge Richard Lavery to the 3rd District Court of Wyoming. Lavery will replace retired Judge Jere A. Ryckman on the District Court.[1]

Lavery, prior to his appointment, served as the municipal court judge for Bear River, Evanston, Lyman, and Mountain View. He also practiced law with the private firm of Lavery & Rose.[2]

Gov. Mead stated, "The Judicial Nominating Commission did great work and Rick will serve Wyoming well. He has a keen mind, depth and diversity in his career as a lawyer and the right temperament for the judiciary."[1]
