Templates
Finding templates
Important templates in the federal project are collect at Category: Federal court templates.
Standardizing templates
An organizational aspect of this project is creating and standardizing templates for federal courts and federal judges.
Significant templates can be viewed at:
- Horizontal navigational templates/U.S. Circuits
- Horizontal navigational templates/U.S. Districts
- Judgepedia:Horizontal navigational templates/Nominating president
- Template:Calendar years (this will assist you in wiki-linking dates in articles about federal courts and judges to the appropriate calendar year of key events).
Placing templates
After a template is created for the judges in a federal court that template should be placed on the page of each judge listed in the template. This is done by placing the name of the template inside of two sets of curly brackets. For example:
- {{Judges of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts}}
will appear on the page like this:
These templates should be placed near the bottom of the page, below the "References" section and above the categories.
Stub template
If you create a stub article in the federal project, please place {{Federal stub}} at the end of the article.
Discussion pages
Each page on a wiki has a corresponding discussion (or "talk" page) which is accessed by clicking the tab called discussion between the page and edit tabs at the top of the page. Talk pages are used to discuss their corresponding pages' construction and ways they can be improved. For this project, each federal court or federal judge talk page should have this template placed on them:
- {{WikiProject federal judiciary}}.
