Judgepedia:WikiProject federal judiciary/Courthouse additions
Project goals
The goal of this project is to create subsections under each federal court article that discuss the various federal courthouses used by the district and appellate courts. Sections will highlight the architecture and history of the court as well as guidelines for visiting including hours of operation and important security considerations. This information may later be used to start stub pages on all of the federal courthouses but for the time being the sections will make valuable additions to all of the district court pages.
Research resources
The majority of the research for this project can done using the Federal General Services Administration which manages all the federal buildings. You can find a convenient search program here. The G.S.A. building profiles contain information on the architecture, history and key features of all of the buildings. We are working to obtain photo permission to use the images on their website as well. In addition, the individual district court pages will often contain links to the history of the courthouse as well as any historical societies that are run on behalf of the court.
Page Outline
The appropriate sections of the page will fall under the courts tab near the bottom of the page. The exact title will be ===Federal courthouse=== which will fall under the ==History==.
