Award categories
The nine award categories in the Sammies include awards for:
- Bloggers
- Filmmakers
- Open records champions
- Microbloggers
- Wiki Writers
- Grassroot Activists
- Other government watchdogs committed to liberty
Wikiteer awards
Starting in 2009, the Sammies will also honor wiki writers with...<drumroll please>...the Wikiteer Award.
There are three different Wikiteer awards, one for each of the wikis sponsored by the Sam Adams Alliance:
The winners of the three different Wikiteer awards will each receive a cash prize of $1,000. According to the Sammies' website, each winner will also receive "...a smashingly-handsome golden Sammy ... and ... will be flown to Chicago to be recognized at the 2nd Annual Sammies Award Show, a red-carpet affair scheduled for April 18, 2009."
Qualifications
The considerations listed for those who might be considered for a Judgepedia Wikiteer award are:
- Quantity: high amount of wiki pages created/edited
- Accuracy: creation of error-free pages, fixing existing errors, and correct category use
- Comprehensiveness: contributions that help make the wiki authoritative (i.e. adding internal/external links, images, tables, graphs, etc.)

- Entry deadline: Friday, March 20, 2009
- Here's where to submit an application. Under the section in the application that says, "Describe the work and achievements in the selected category", include your Judgepedia user name and information about the content you've focused on building here. Be sure to include links to particular wiki pages you've heavily contributed to and are proud of.
