Judicial selection in Texas

(Redirected from Judicial Selection in Texas)
All Texas judges (whether a part of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, Court of Appeals, or Texas District Court) are elected via partisan election.
If elected, all judges, with the exception of those elected to a District Court, serve an initial term of six years; District Court judges serve an initial term of four years. After the initial term, each judge stands for re-election to another six--or four year--term.[1]
