Julie Kunce Field is a judge of the Colorado Eighth Judicial District. She was appointed by Governor Bill Ritter, effective January 1, 2011, and was retained by voters in 2014.[1][2][3] Her current six-year term expires on January 11, 2021.[4]

Field received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982 and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1985.[6]


Before her judicial appointment in 2011, Field was the founder and executive director of the Confidentiality Institute. She has also worked as a professor at several law schools.[6]
