Kathryn Graeff

Kathryn Grill Graeff is a judge on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, the intermediate appellate court for the state of Maryland. She took office on September 2, 2008 and she represents the 3rd Appellate Circuit.[1]

Biography

Judge Graeff was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She received her B.A. degree from Marquette University in 1983 and her J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1986.[1]

Legal career

Judge Graeff joined the law firm Smith, Somerville, & Case as an associate in 1986. In 1990, she joined the Office of the Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division as an assistant attorney general. In 1999, she was promoted to deputy chief and in 2002, she became the Chief of the Criminal Appeals Division. She held this position until her appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
