Alisa Kelli Wise is an associate justice on the Alabama Supreme Court. She was first elected to the court is the state's partisan elections, and is one of nine Republicans on the nine member court. Her first six-year term on the court began in 2010. Her current term expires in 2016.[1]
Education
Wise received a B. S. in Biology in 1985 from Auburn University. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law in 1994. She then earned a masters in Public Administration from Auburn University in Montgomery in 2000.[1]
Career
Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Wise worked with Proctor and Gamble for several years.[2] After graduation from law school, Wise worked for Governor James's Legislative Office. She also served as legal counsel for ProStaff HRM, Inc. and did occasional work for the law firms of John Taber & Associates and Pittman, Pittman, Carwie & Fuquay. Wise then served as a staff attorney to Justice Jean Brown on the Alabama Supreme Court. Wise was elected to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals in 2000, becoming the youngest woman to serve on the Alabama Appellate Courts. Wise was re-elected in 2006 and then became Presiding Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2008. Wise was elected to the Alabama Supreme Court in 2010.[1]

2010 Supreme Court bid

Judge Wise was elected for the seat on the Alabama Supreme Court that was vacated by Patricia Smith in 2010. [3][4][5] She ran against Democratic candidate Rhonda Chambers.[6]
