Kenneth S. McHargh is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He was appointed to this position on March 1, 2004.[1]
Education
Judge McHargh received his B.A. degree from the College of Wooster in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut in 1974. He later taught as an adjunct professor at the Case Western Reserve School of Law and the Cleveland Marshall Law School from 1986 to 1999.[1]
Career
Judge McHargh began his career in 1974 working for the New Haven Legal Assistance Association. He also served briefly (in 1978 and 1979) as staff counsel to the Congressional "Select Committee Investigating Assassinations of President John F. Kennedy & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." In 1979, he became an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Economic Crimes Unit of the Northern District of Ohio. He worked in this position until 1983, when he became the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division in the Major Narcotics and Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Unit. He was then appointed a magistrate judge in 2004. From 1986 to 2004, he also served as a team leader in the Executive Office for the U.S. Attorney’s Evaluation & Review Program.[1]
