Kenneth A. Rocco is a judge on the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. He was first elected to this position in 1996 (effective early 1997). [1] He was re-elected to 6-year terms in 2002 and 2008 and will be up for re-election again in 2014. His current term ends on February 11, 2015.[2][3]
Education
Justice Rocco served in the Army in 1957 and 1958, before attending college. He received his A.B. degree from Ohio University in 1962 and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve School of Law in 1965. [1]
Legal career
Justice Rocco worked as a practicing attorney from 1965 until 1982 in addition to his other jobs. In 1966, he began working as a prosecutor and assistant law director in Parma, Ohio. He then worked in Brooklyn Heights from 1973 through 1974 as a prosecutor and law director. During this time, he also served as a member of the Parma City Council. In 1975, he began serving as a Representative in the Ohio General Assembly. He held this position through 1982. He then became a Judge of the Common Pleas Court in the Juvenile Division. In 1986, he was named Administrative Judge of that division. He left the Common Pleas Court in 1996, when he was elected to the Court of Appeals.[1]
