Kenneth R. Yegan is a judge on the Second District, Division Six of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed by then-Governor Deukmejian and took his oath of office on December 27, 1990. He was retained by voters on the November 5, 2002 and January 6, 2003 elections.[1] His current term expires on January 5, 2015.[2]
Education
Kenneth Yegan graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1969. In 1972, he received his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He graduated from California Judicial College in 1983. In 1991, he graduated from the Institution of Judicial Administration, New York University School of Law.[3][4]
Legal career
Kenneth Yegan began his career as a Deputy Public Defender. Then, in 1975, he became an attorney for the California Second District Court of Appeal. He moved to private practice from 1982 to 1983. After this, he was appointed to judge the Municipal Court of Ventura County. He served as pro-tem Justice on the California Second District Court of Appeal, Second District, Division Six for a year in 1986. That same year, he was appointed to the Superior Court of Ventura County, where he worked until 1990.[3][4]
