Judges in Kentucky are selected in non-partisan primary and general elections. If more than two candidates compete in a race, the two with the highest number of votes in the primary advance to the general election.
Midterm vacancies are filled by appointment. Candidates are chosen by a nominating commission and, from those candidates, the Governor makes the final appointment.
In addition to our volunteer editors, Judgepedia has a group of paid staff members. You can learn about our staff members by looking through their bio pages.
