Kern A. Reese is a judge for the
41st Judicial District Civil Court (Division L) in
Orleans Parish,
Louisiana. He was elected to this position on
May 5, 2001, his current term expiring on
December 31, 2014.

Education
Reese received his B.A. degree in History from Pomona College in 1974 and his J.D. degree from Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans. He was admitted to the bar in 1977.[3][4][5]
Career
Early in his career, Reese worked as a law clerk for the law firm of Harris, Stempley, Mckee, Bernard & Broussard and as a staff attorney for the New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation. He later worked as an associate for the firm of Murray, Murray, Ellis, Braden & Landry and then as a partner in Braden & Reese. Prior to his judicial election in 2001, he ran a solo practice in New Orleans that emphasized tort litigation, corporation and general business law and municipal finance. He has also taught as an associate adjunct professor at the Tulane University School of Law for over 20 years.[5][6]
