Kimberly K. Fernandez is a Criminal Justice and Trial Division judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was elected to the court on November 7, 2006 (effective the following January). She was re-elected in 2012 and her current term expires in January of 2019.

Biography

Fernandez received her B.B.S. degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and her J.D. degree from Stetson University. She was admitted to the Bar in 1990.

Career

Early in her career, Fernandez worked as a prosecutor and as a public defender in Hillsborough County. She then ran her own law practice, dealing with family and criminal law, from 1995 until she was elected to the Circuit Court in 2006.

2012 election

Fernandez was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.
