Knott County is within the Kentucky Court of Appeals Seventh District

The people of Knott County are served by a District Court, Circuit Court and a Family Court.

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky has jurisdiction in Knott County. Appeals from the Eastern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
