Kurtis G. Fouts is a judge for the Carroll County Superior Court in Indiana. He was appointed to this position by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2010 to replace retiring Judge Jeffrey R. Smith.[1] He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that expires on December 31, 2020.[2]

Fouts received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and later earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois.[1]


Before his appointment to the bench, Fouts was the attorney for the Carroll County Commissioners and the city of Delphi. He has also served as a public defender in White, Carroll, and Tippecanoe Counties, and has been an attorney in private practice. He also worked as chief deputy prosecutor in Carroll County.[1]
