Laura B. Smith is a judge on the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division in Ohio. She was appointed to the court by Governor John Kasich to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Kathy S. Mowry. She assumed office on August 8, 2011 and was elected to the court in November 2012 to a full six-year term which expires on January 2, 2019.[1][2]
Education
Smith received her bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Capital University and her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment as a judge in 2011, Smith had served as a magistrate for the Fairfield County Common Pleas Court Domestic Relations Division in Lancaster, Ohio since 1997.[1]
