J. Lawrence Irving (1935-present) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Irving was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on July 15, 1982, to a seat vacated by Edward Schwartz; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 28, 1982, and received commission that same day. He served the Southern District of California until his resignation on December 31, 1990.
