Lawrence Mooney

Lawrence E. Mooney is currently a judge serving on the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed to this position in August of 1998 and was retained in 2000. From 2002 to 2003, he was the Chief Judge. His term expires on December 31, 2012.[1]

Biography

Judge Mooney was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his A.B. and J.D. degrees from St. Louis University.[1]

Legal career

Judge Mooney began his legal career in 1974 as a private practice lawyer. The following year, he became an Assistant prosecuting attorney for St. Louis County. In 1977, he returned to the private practice of law for about one year. He then worked as the First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County through 1990. From 1991 until his appointment to the Court of Appeals in 1998, he was an Executive Assistant to the County Executive of St. Louis County.[1]
