Lee Allan Smith

Lee Allan Smith is a at-large citizen member on the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission an organization that is charged in selecting candidates for appointment by the Governor to fill vacancies on the Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Appeals, District and Associate District Judgeships, and the Workers' Compensation Court. Also, the commission is responsible for adminstering discipline and hearing complaints in the Oklahoma Judicial System.

Background

Smith is the Vice Chairman of Ackerman McQueen, joining them in 1987. He also serves as President of Oklahoma Events, Inc., a full service event production and marketing firm. Smith also served as President of Oklahoma Centennial Sports, Inc. which was the local organizing committee for the 1989 U.S. Olympic Festival in Oklahoma[1].

In 1978, Smith joined KTVY Channel 4, an NBC affiliate, in Oklahoma City, where he served as President and General Manager. Before KTVY, Smith spent 22 years with Gaylord Broadcasting Company, where he started as a local salesman. Smith went on to become General Manager and Vice President of WKY Radio and Assistant General Manager of WKY-TV[2].

Judicial Nominating Commission

In 2007, Smith was selected by the other members of the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission to serve at large in which his term expires on October 5, 2009[3].
