Linda M. McGee is a judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Governor Hunt appointed her to this position in 1995. She was elected in 1996 and re-elected in 2004 and 2012. Her current term expires in 2020.[1][2][3]

Education

McGee received her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971 and her J.D. degree from UNC - Chapel Hill School of Law in 1973. She is now married and has two children.[1]

Legal career

McGee began her legal career in 1973 as the first Executive Director of the N.C. Academy of Trial Lawyers. She worked in this position until 1978. She then practiced law with the firm Santi, Watson & McGee for seventeen years until she was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1995.[1]

2012 election

McGee was re-elected to the Court of Appeals on Nov. 6, 2012, defeating David S. Robinson with 61.2% of the vote.[3][4][5]
