The Louisiana Mayor's Courts deal with local ordinance and traffic violations. These courts have authority in areas without city courts, where the mayor and appointed magistrates may try municipal ordinance violations. There are approximately 250 mayor's courts in Louisiana. They do not hear jury trials.[1][2][3]
