The Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal is one of five Louisiana Circuit Courts of Appeal. It consists of nine judges, who sit in panels of three to decide appeals and writ applications. The second circuit covers 20 of the state's northernmost parishes.[2]

History

Louisiana's intermediate appellate courts were created by the 1879 Constitution.[3]
