The Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal is one of the five circuit Courts of Appeal in the State of Louisiana, which handle appeals in criminal court cases.

The Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit consists of twelve sitting judges. The Court has jurisdiction over twenty-one parishes in Southwestern Louisiana - Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Catahoula, Concordia, Evangeline, Grant, Iberia, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion, and Vernon.

The Court meets at 1000 Main Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

There is a vacancy on the court due to the death of Michael G. Sullivan. David Chatelain is filling the vacancy on a temporary basis and a permanent placement will be voted on in the October 2, 2010 election. Francie Bouillion, Buzz Durio, Phyllis M. Keaty and Jeanne Laborde are running for the seat. [1][2]
