Lourdes A. Martínez is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. She was appointed to this position on April 1, 2003.[1] Her current term will end in April of 2011, after 8 years.[2]
Education
Judge Martinez earned her undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University and her law degree from the University of New Mexico.[3]
Career
Martinez began her career as a law clerk to the New Mexico Supreme Court. She then worked as an Assistant Attorney General and a private practice lawyer before becoming a judge. She judged for the New Mexico Third Judicial District Court for approximately four years before becoming a magistrate judge in 2003.[3][4]
