Lucius Desha Bunton III (1924-2001) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Bunton was nominated to the Western District of Texas by President Jimmy Carter on October 11, 1979, to a seat vacated by John Wood; he was confirmed by the Senate on November 26, 1979, and received commission the next day. From 1987-1992, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on December 1, 1992. He served the Western District of Texas until his death on January 17, 2001.[1] Bunton was succeeded in this position by David Briones.
