Lyonel Norris is a judge on the Fourth Judicial District in Minnesota. He was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton in June 2011. He won election in 2012 to keep his seat.

Education

Norris received his undergraduate degree from Carleton College in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1983.

Career

Before his appointment to the court, Norris was an Assistant Federal Defender. He had also worked as Director of the Office of Equity in the Minnesota Department of Education and an Assistant Public Defender in the Office of the Minnesota State Public Defender.
