Manuel A. Ramirez is the Presiding Justice of the Fourth District, Division Two of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed to this position by Governor Deukmejian and, after his confirmation, took the oath of office on December 27, 1990.[1] She is up for retention in 2010.

Biography

Manuel Ramirez was born in 1948 in Los Angeles. He graduated from Whittier College in 1970 with degrees in political science and international relations. He went on the receive his law degree (J.D.) from Loyola Law School in 1974. He is married with four children.[2][3]

Legal career

Manuel Ramirez began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Orange County. He held this position from 1976 to 1983. He was then appointed to the Orange County Municipal Court, where he served for about three years. In 1986, he was elevated to the Orange County Superior Court. He served on this court until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[2][3]
