Marialyn Barnard

Marialyn Barnard is a judge on the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals. She was appointed to this position by Governor Perry[1] on January 1, 2009[2] and her current term ends on December 31, 2012.[3]
Biography
Justice Barnard grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She received her B.S. degree in Political Science and English from Texas A&M University Commerce in 1983 and her J.D. degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1992. Prior to receiving her law degree, she worked as a teacher and social worker. She is now married and has two children.[2]
Legal career
Justice Barnard began her legal career as a briefing attorney and law clerk for Judge Orland Garcia. She then worked as an Assistant United States Attorney[1]. After this, she worked as a managing director in forensic litigation for KPMG, LLP and later became a corporate attorney and director of business intelligence for CPS Energy. She then worked as a lawyer with the firm Prichard, Hawkins, McFarland & Young LLP until her appointment to the Court of Appeals in 2009.[2]
