Marilyn Kite

Marilyn S. Kite (b. 1947) is a justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court. Justice Kite was appointed by Governor Jim Geringer (R) to fill the vacancy created when Justice Richard Macy retired. Justice Kite was sworn into office June 2, 2000. Her current term expires in 2014. [1]
On July 1, 2010 Kite will assume the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. She will be the first woman to serve in that role in Wyoming's history. [2]
Legal background
Justice Kite received her B.A. from the University of Wyoming in 1970 with Honors and her J.D. from the University of Wyoming Law School in 1974. [1]
Legal career
Prior to her appointment to the Wyoming Supreme Court, Justice Kite served as Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming from 1974 through 1978. She entered private practice when she joined the law firm of Holland & Hart in 1979, and she was a partner in the Jackson Office until her appointment to the Supreme Court. [1]

Personal
Justice Kite is married to Jackson-based lawyer Roy "Skip" Jacobson Jr. and they have one son. They live in Jackson, Wyoming. [2]
