Eminent domain ruling
Judge Goldsmith denied a property owner's challenge against the city of Orchard Lake Village to move forward with a roadway project. The city had offered "fair market value" to the owners of property at 3805 and 3815 Indian Trail to obtain 18 inch deep strips of land. Both homeowners declined the city's offers, so the issue went to court. The cases were resolved in favor of the city in September 2008. [9]
