Mark A. Moreno is a part-time federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. He has served in this position since 1993 and he presides in Pierre (the Central District).[1][2]
Biography and Education
Mark Moreno was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1958. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1980 and his J.D. degree from Creighton University in 1983.[2]
Career
Judge Moreno began his career in 1983 as an Assistant Attorney General. He became a Special Assistant Attorney General in 1986 and he worked in this position until 2000. During this time he also worked as a Deputy State's Attorney from 1986 to 1988 and a State's Attorney from 1989 to 1993. He was appointed magistrate judge in 1993. He also works as a lawyer.[2]
