Mary Noble

Mary C. Noble is an associate justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court. She was elected to the court in November 2006 to serve the 5th Supreme Court District.[1] Her current term expires 2014.

Biography

Justice Noble received her bachelor's (1971) and master's (1975) degrees from Austin Peay State University. She then earned her J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1981. [1]

Legal career

Justice Noble began her legal career in 1981 as a private practice lawyer. She worked in this capacity until 1991 and also worked as a domestic relations commissioner from 1989 to 1991. In 1991, she was elected Circuit Judge for Fayette County. While on this court, she served two terms as chief regional circuit judge. She is also one of the founders of the Kentucky Drug Courts and she served as a Drug Court judge from 1996 to November 2006. She was then elected to the Supreme Court in 2006.[1]

Associations

She has been a member of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals Congress of State Drug Courts since its inception and has served as its president. She currently serves on the board of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.[1]
