Mayes County special judge to retire

Pryor, Oklahoma: Judge Gary J. Dean, of the Mayes County special district court (District 12), plans to retire on September 30, 2010. He has served on this court since January 1, 1999 and plans to continue in the private practice of the law after his retirement from the court. He also plans to do pro-bono work assisting victims of domestic violence. His appointment will be appointed by the District Judges.

Prior to his appointment to the court, Gary Dean worked as a lawyer and, for 30 years, as General Counsel for the Pryor Municipal Utility Board. Regarding his retirement from the bench, he said, “I feel like I am really ready to get back into the active practice of Law and looking forward to it."[1]
