Melvin Brunetti
Melvin T. Brunetti (b. Nov. 11, 1933) was a federal appeals judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit based in San Francisco. He joined the court in 1985 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. Brunetti passed away on October 30, 2009. [1]
Education
Brunett graduated from Cal-Hastings Law with his J.D. in 1964 and also served as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard from 1954 to 1956. [2]
Legal career
Brunetti was a private practice lawyer in the State of Nevada from 1964 to 1985 and also served as a member of the Council of Legal Advisors to the Republican National Committee from 1982 to 1985. [2]
Federal judicial career
Brunetti was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on February 26, 1985 to a seat vacated by Herbert Choy. Brunetti was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 3, 1985 on a Senate vote and received commission on April 4, 1985. Brunetti assumed senior status on November 11, 1999 where he served until his death. [2]
