Michael A. Martinez is a judge for the Colorado Second Judicial District Court. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Bill Owens in September 2000.[1] He was retained in 2010 to a six-year term that ends on December 31, 2016.[2][3]

Education

Martinez received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law.[1]

Career

Martinez has been a trial lawyer in both the public and private practice. He has worked as a private practice lawyer with the Denver firm of Mann and Shappell and served as both an associate general counsel for the Regional Transportation District and as an assistant attorney for the City of Denver. Before joining the 2nd District court, Martinez was a magistrate for the 17th Judicial District.[1]
