Michael A. Martinez is a judge for the Colorado Second Judicial District Court. He was appointed to this position by Gov. Owens in September of 2000.[1] He was retained in 2010 to a six year term that ends on December 31, 2016.[2][3]
Education
Martinez holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and a J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law.[1]
Legal career
Martinez has been a trial lawyer in both the public and private practice. He has worked as a private practice lawyer with the Denver firm of Mann and Shappell, Associate General Counsel for the Regional Transportation District, and Assistant Denver City Attorney. Before joining the 2nd District court, he was a Magistrate for the 17th Judicial District.[1]

Martinez was retained in 2010 with 71.36% of the vote. [3][4]
