Michael Golden (b. 1942) is a justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court. Justice Golden has been a member of the court since 1988, when he was appointed by then-Governor Mike Sullivan (D). Justice Golden served as the Chief Justice of the court from 1994 to 1996. He was retained in 1990, 1998 and 2006. His current eight-year term expires in 2014.
Legal background
Justice Golden received his B.A. from the University of Wyoming in 1964, and graduated from the U.W. College of Law in 1967. Justice Golden earned an LL.M. in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia in 1992.
Legal career
Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Golden practiced law in Casper and Rawlins after serving four years in the U.S. Army JAG Corps.[1]
