Michael Streit

Michael Streit is an associate justice of the Iowa Supreme Court. He was appointed in 2001 and his current term expires on December 31, 2010.[1]
Biography
Streit received his bachelor's degree in 1972 from the University of Iowa and his law degree in 1975 from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is now married and has one son.[1]
Legal career
After law school, Justice Streit practiced law in Chariton and worked as an assistant Lucas County attorney (and later a Lucas County attorney) until 1983, when he was appointed as a District Court judge. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1996.[1]

Justice Streit is a member of the Supreme Court Education Advisory Committee, Judges Association Education Committee, Iowa Judicial Institute, Supreme Court Judicial Technology Committee, and Bencher, Blackstone Inn of Court. [1]
