The Minnesota Tenth Judicial District is one of ten judicial districts in Minnesota. It encompasses Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington and Wright Counties.
Judicial vacancies
The Tenth Judicial District has several vacancies to fill in 2009. The Minnesota Commission on Judicial Selection solicited applications from qualified individuals to fill the positions. To be considered for the position, an applicant must be a resident of the Tenth Judicial District and a licensed Minnesota attorney. [1]
"The vacancies are due to the retirement of the Honorable Kenneth L. Jorgensen on Jan. 6, 2009, the retirement of the Honorable David E. Doyscher on Jan. 31, 2009, the death of the Honorable Douglas G. Swenson on Feb. 1, 2009, and the... retirement of the Honorable Stephen J. Askew on July 31, 2009." [2]
The Commission on Judicial Selection recommended eight finalists to Governor Pawlenty for the three open positions. The finalists are attorneys Suzanne Bollman, Robert Goodell, John Hennen, Bethany Fountain Lindberg, Stephen Nicol, Daniel O’Fallon and Todd Schoffelman. Law school graduate Dyanna Street has also been recommended. [3]
Bethany A. Fountain Lindberg, Daniel A. O’Fallon and Dyanna L. Street are the three judges who received the appointment from Governor Pawlenty. [4]
