The Montana Judicial Nominating Commission is the body in Montana that solicits applications and vets candidates in the case of a mid-term vacancy on the Montana state courts.[1]
Members
The commission's seven members are elected to four-year terms. It consists of four non-judicial/non-attorney members appointed by the governor; two attorneys appointed by the Supreme Court; and one district judge elected by district judges.[1]
