North Dakota judicial system
The structure of the North Dakota judicial system is laid out in Article VI of the state Constitution. The state court system is made up of the Supreme Court, the North Dakota Court of Appeals, the North Dakota District Courts and the North Dakota Municipal Courts.
There are two federal courts in North Dakota: the District of North Dakota and the District of North Dakota Bankruptcy Court. Appeals are heard in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
