Patricia D. Benke is an associate justice on the Fourth District, Division One of the California Courts of Appeal. She was appointed by then-Governor Deukmejian and took her oath of office on June 3, 1987. She was retained by voters in the November 7, 2006 election.[1] Her current term expires on January 7, 2019.[2]
Education
Patricia Benke earned a degree in political science from San Diego State University in 1971. After this, she earned her law degree from The University of San Diego School of Law in 1974. [3]
Legal career
Patricia Benke began her career as a California Deputy Attorney General, where she worked from 1974 to 1983. After this, she was appointed to the San Diego Municipal Court by Gov. Deukmejian. In 1985, she was appointed to the Superior Court, where she served for two years before moving to the Court of Appeal.
