Patricia Timmons-Goodson

Patricia Timmons-Goodson (b. 1954) is an Associate Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court. She was appointed on February 1, 2006 to fill a vacancy on the court; her term expires in 2014. Justice Timmons-Goodson was appointed to the Supreme Court by Governor Mike Easley (D).
Legal education
Justice Timmons-Goodson graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech, and graduated with a J.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Law.[1]
Legal experience
Judge Timmons-Goodson worked for the United States Census from 1979 to 1980, became Assistant District Attorney for the Twelfth Prosecutorial District from 1981 to 1983, and served as Staff Attorney for Lumbee River Legal Services from 1983 to 1984. In 1984, she was elected to the District Court, where she remained until 1997; in that year, she was appointed by Governor James Hunt, Jr. to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She was appointed on February 1, 2006 to be Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.[2]
