Notable rulings

Pay cut for California state employees

To attempt to fill a large budget gap, in July 2010 Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed reducing the pay of all state employees to minimum wage. In order to get this provision in the budget, the administration tried to get a court order, allowing the reduced wages. Marlette denied that request, "...ruling that it would cause undue harm to workers," but would make his final ruling by late summer.[3]
