Paul H. Anderson is an Associate Justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court. He has served in this capacity since July 1, 1994, and successfully won re-election in 2008 and will serve again until his term is up in 2015.
During the September 9, 2008 primary, he faced two challengers, Alan Lawrence Nelson and Tim Tingelstad. Anderson and Tingelstad garnered enough of the popular vote to move on the general election.

- In the November 4, 2008 general election Paul Anderson garnered 1,260,705 votes (61%), defeating Tim Tingelstad, who had 818,812 (39%).[1]

Legal education and experience
Justice Anderson earned his B.A. Degree, cum laude, from Macalester College in 1965 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1968.
Prior to joining the supreme court, Anderson served as chief judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals, from Sept. 1992 - June 30, 1994. He was an Associate and Partner with the firm LeVander, Gillen & Miller Law Offices, in South St. Paul from 1971-1992; he specialized in real estate, estate planning, probate, business law, and construction litigation. Justice Anderson was a Special Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division and Department of Public Safety, Office of Minnesota Attorney General from 1970-71. He was also a VISTA (Volunteers In Service to America) attorney from 1968-69, and served as a neighborhood attorney for New Haven Legal Assistance, New Haven, CT.[2]

Results of 2008 Primary
Incumbent Justice Paul Anderson and challenger Tim Tingelstad advanced to the state's general election after getting enough of the September 9th primary vote. With 99% of precincts reporting the morning after the election, Anderson had 205,037 votes (64%) and Tingelstad had 69,385 votes (22%). Challenger Alan Nelson came in third with 46,619 votes (15%) and is out of the running.[3][4]
