Paul Czajka was a judge for the Columbia County Family Court, Columbia County Surrogate's Court and the Columbia County Court in New York. He was first elected to this position in 1995. He was re-elected in 2005 with a term ending in 2014, but he retired in May 2011 in order to run for Columbia County District Attorney, a position he previously held from 1988 to 1994. He has also served as an acting justice of the Columbia County Supreme Court.
Czajka began his career in 1982 as a private practice lawyer. He worked in this capacity until 1986 and was an Assistant Columbia County District Attorney from 1981 to 1985. In 1986 and 1987, he was a Columbia County Public Defender. He then worked as a District Attorney in Columbia County from 1988 to 1994. In 1995, he was elected to the County, Surrogate's and Family courts.
