Paul D. Mathias is a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals for the Third District. He was appointed to this position by Governor O'Bannon and took office on March 30, 2000. He was retained by voters in 2002. [1] His current term expires in 2012.
Education
Judge Mathias graduated from Harvard in 1976 and from Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington in 1979. [1]
Career
Judge Mathias began his legal career as a private practice lawyer, focusing on the areas of construction law, personal injury and appellate practice. After this, in 1986, he was appointed Referee of the Allen County Small Claims Court. In 1989, he was elevated to Judge of the Allen Superior Court in the Civil Division.[1]
2012 election
Judge Mathias ran for retention in the 2012 election and was retained.
